In the conversation, a cross-section of the fifteen State of the City Food System Reports will be discussed and engaged. These city reports reflect many of the key points emerging from the recently launched Committee on Food Security’s High-Level Panel of Experts report on urban and peri-urban food systems.
The reports will be presented and debated by a panel of food system experts led by Gareth Haysom of the African Centre for Cities. Panelists will include Alison Pulker and Nokukhanya Mncwabe from the African Centre for Cities, lead on the State of the City: Kisumu report Paul Opiyo of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Kisumu, Kenya, and Rirhandzu Marivate of the South African Urban Food and Farming Trust..
